Hyundai vehicles are about to get a whole lot smarter. The Korean carmaker recently announced that they would incorporate Android Auto into future vehicles, starting with select vehicles in the 2015 model year. Android Auto integrates familiar Android smartphone features into Hyundai’s fourth generation touchscreen Audio Video Navigation system, making it easier for Hyundai drivers to stay connected without being distracted.
“Android Auto’s clean and intuitive interface is a perfect match with Hyundai Motor Group’s interior design approach,” said Paul Choo, director of Silicon Valley Accelerator Lab. “The goal is to provide a smarter and safer way to use smartphone technology and convenience in cars. Android Auto helps us reach that goal”
Through Android Auto, drivers can display their phone experience onto their car’s in-dash display. There are a variety of apps and services available to Hyundai users who use this technology, all of which can be controlled with voice input and glanceable controls. All a driver needs to do is connect their Android phone via a USB port and they’re set!
Hyundai hasn’t officially announced which 2015 models will be receiving the Android Auto technology, so until then make sure you stop by Glenbrook Hyundai to see what other technological features our Hyundai models have to offer you!
