The Hyundai Elantra rounded out the list of top five bestselling cars across the globe in a recent report issued by Carmudi. Global total units of the model reached about 407,000 in the 24 years since the model’s launch. “The Hyundai Elantra’s dazzling success has been achieved through its creative design and economic fuel consumption, to name just two of its impressive qualities. To have the model placed as fifth best-selling car in the world is a stunning achievement and one of which we are very proud,” said Axel Dreyer, President, Juma Al Majid Est. Hyundai.
The Elantra drove away with ‘Car of the Year’ at the North American International Auto Show back in 2012. An advanced powertrain resulted in the Hyundai Elantra receiving a zero emissions certificate from the EPA, putting it on the same level as most hybrid electric vehicles. The Elantra will be redesigned for 2016. As the most brand’s most popular compact car, Hyundai plans to offer more incentives and trim packages to give the Elantra an edge over its rivals. Discount financing will also be available for returning customers to encourage loyalty.
